Further development as the key to success
Jürgen Daxdobler has been an integral part of Scheuch for over 22 years. He has had an impressive career, progressing from construction to product development and on to the strategic development of product management.
In this interview, he talks about his career, his greatest successes and the challenges he has overcome over the last two decades.
Can you tell us a little about your professional background and your apprenticeship?
My connection with Scheuch began while I was still at school, at the Higher Technical Institute for Mechanical Engineering in Wels, when I completed a holiday internship here. After graduating,
I started at Scheuch in 2002 in the area of project processing in the stone and earth sector. After completing my military service, I transferred to the design department, where I worked intensively on the further development of existing products. The introduction of 3D design using the ProEngineer CAD program was particularly exciting for me, as I was able to use it to help develop a filter series.
Which stages and experiences have particularly shaped your path at Scheuch?
My career path at Scheuch has been characterised by exciting challenges and opportunities for further development. From 2008, my focus was on the development of smc technology. Two years later, I was given the opportunity to take part in an extensive internal training programme that provided me with a holistic insight into various areas. This experience opened new doors for me and eventually led to my move to product management in 2012, where I helped to establish a new department.
What have been your greatest professional successes so far?
I am particularly proud of my time as a design engineer, during which I played a significant role in the development of smc technology. In my current role as a product manager, I have also had the opportunity to work on some major organisational development projects, including the introduction of the business unit organisation and the development of the new Scheuch electrostatic precipitator series. It's a great feeling to be actively involved in helping the company develop both technologically and organisationally.
What challenges have you overcome in your career?
The biggest challenge was definitely introducing and establishing product management at Scheuch. Anchoring a new concept in a company and developing it further over the years requires a great deal of commitment and persuasion. However, it was precisely this challenge that motivated me to find new solutions and continue developing time and again.
Which projects did you enjoy most?
Accompanying product development projects from the initial concept to market launch is one of the most exciting tasks for me. Seeing how a vision becomes a successful product that performs well in the market is one of my greatest motivations. I also really enjoy working on organisational development projects, as they not only sustainably improve the company, but also the way teams work together.
How do you find the balance to work?
Music is an important part of my life outside of work. I play the trumpet in the Schildorn traditional costume folk brass band and enjoy developing my musical talents. I also enjoy spending time with my family and my young daughter. I have recently discovered a new and interesting hobby: beekeeping.
