Hands-on experience from day one: Apprentices at Scheuch in Aurolzmünster take on responsibility in projects ranging from 3D printing to energy and social-impact initiatives with external partners.

Scheuch apprentices work on real projects
From advanced manufacturing to energy and social-impact projects, aspiring skilled professionals gain extensive hands-on experience at Scheuch in Aurolzmünster. Collaboration with external partners broadens their perspectives and supports their professional development.
At Scheuch, apprentices are actively involved in real projects and take on responsibility early in their training. They work on practical assignments and make a visible contribution to technical developments as well as projects beyond the company.
Advanced Manufacturing
A 3D-printing project gives apprentices insight into innovative manufacturing technologies. They independently develop components and explore modern production methods in depth, building a solid understanding of technologies that are becoming increasingly important in industry.
Collaboration and Exchange
As part of the AGS apprenticeship partnership, two apprentices from the automation specialist once again spent time working at Scheuch. The second-year mechatronics and mechanical engineering apprentices contributed in various departments, expanding their knowledge through new experiences and practical assignments.
Furthmühle Energy Project
“One particularly noteworthy project is the development of a hand-powered fan with 3D-printed impellers. It provides a clear, hands-on way to demonstrate aerodynamic principles and airflow. A generator and control unit make it possible to record measurements and visualize them in a performance chart,” explains Gerald Stockhammer, Team Leader for Apprenticeship Training at Scheuch.
The system will be used at Furthmühle Pram, where interactive energy stations are being developed to explain water, wind, heat, solar energy, and electricity in an engaging and accessible way. The first stations are already open to visitors, with the full opening scheduled for October 11, 2026.
Additional Projects
For Sozialmarkt Ried, the apprentices developed a dispensing device, with a first-year apprentice involved in its design. They also created a chloride measurement panel for a well-known company and helped build a new trailer for the district fire department, further broadening the range of projects.
“Scheuch’s apprenticeship program is designed to be diverse and gives apprentices the opportunity to work independently from an early stage. Contributing to real-world assignments makes an apprenticeship at Scheuch especially varied and future-focused,” says Stefan Scheuch, CEO of the Scheuch Group.
Scheuch is currently seeking apprentices in design engineering and metal technology in particular.
