Tube coolers are used as gas/gas heat exchangers in dedusting plants.

The hot exhaust gas flows one or more times through the pipe packets in a uniform vertical direction. The cooling effect is achieved through crosscurrent airflow on the outside of the pipes that is generated by amply dimensioned fan units. The cooling of the exhaust gases reduces the volume flow that must be cleaned in the downstream IMPULS-filter.
