BIOLOGICAL EXHAUST GAS CLEANING
SABA - an acronym for Scheuch-Anlage zur-Biologischen-Abluftreinigung
With SABA - an acronym for Scheuch-Anlage zur-Biologischen-Abluftreinigung - we have developed a biological method for cleaning MDF dryer exhaust gases that has already proven itself in a number of applications.
The system concept comprises the following process steps:
Pre-moistening
Spraying water into the system cools the crude gas to the water vapor dew point. This moistening process causes the solids in the gas to agglomerate.
Dust separation
A high relative velocity between the gas and the wash water promotes contact between the particles and the water droplets in the scrubber. This removes the particles from the gas stream.
Gas cooling
The temperature of the exhaust caused is subsequently lowered in order to create the best possible conditions for precipitating out the contaminants using adsorption and absorption, as well as biological decomposition processes.
Biological cleaning
The heart of the unit is a biological layer on dripper elements that provide a home for the unit’s microorganisms. Contaminants from the exhaust gas are decomposed by the bacteria, which use the contaminants as food.
The two-stage filter unit is made of non-clogging support material. A sprinkler system moistens the sessile biomass on the bed and supplies it with nutrients. The growth of the microorganism is kept constant by adjusting the amount of moisture delivered by the sprinkler system. The sprinkler system water is recycled through an activated sludge basin, where intense aeration ensures an adequate supply of oxygen. The contaminants contained in the sprinkler water are decomposed by the activated sludge. In the case of installations with load fluctuations, the high capacity of the activated sludge basin acts as a contaminant buffer.
Scheuch is setting standards in the cleaning of MDF dryer exhaust gases with this new biological technology, which ensures constantly low clean gas values. Our system also offers the highest levels of cost-effective and safe operation.
