Fuel Treatment
Higher oil prices have led to an increase worldwide in the use of coal and petroleum coke as fuel for the cement industry. In Europe, in particular, the percentage of secondary fuels (treated waste such as old tires, animal meal, waste wood or composted waste) is increasing and secondary fuels have replaced primary fuels by up to 75 percent. This conserves fossil fuel deposits and the recovery of energy and material recycling that results from the co-combustion of industrial waste also avoids emissions in the form of landfill gases, which have a highly relevant climatic impact.
For the treatment of secondary fuels for thermal recycling (simultaneous disposal), Scheuch offers the corresponding extraction and dedusting equipment for individual areas such as crushing, sorting, transport, handling, etc.
Because the kinds of dust involved here are highly flammable and/or explosive, all components are deployed only as certified ATEX-compliant designs.
