The tasks performed by Metal engineering - Metal construction and sheet metal engineering include:
- Read and apply technical documents (plans, etc.)
- Workflow planning
- Collection and verification of technical data
- Project planning and implementation
- Production of workpieces according to specifications
- Working with computer-aided (CNC) machinery and devices
- Monitoring compliance with quality standards
- Selection and processing of materials
- Processing of materials such as steel, aluminium, both by hand and using machinery
- Assembly of metal housings and elements
- Fault detection and implementation of repairs
- Treatment of material surfaces
Period of apprenticeship: 3½ years
