Scheuch And WieHag Facilitate Social Project
As part of the project management workshop for third year apprentices at Scheuch, a group was assigned the task of planning, completing and implementing a pergola for the nursing home at the Kloster Nazareth in Stadl Paura. The social project, which was sponsored by Scheuch and WieHag, gave these young men and women their first insights into hands-on practice management.
Project Start
Five apprentices at Scheuch and four apprentices at WieHAF began planning the project at the beginning of March. “Right at the start we visited the nursing home and asked how and where the desired pergola was to stand in the future,” explained Susanna Esterer. “This gave us insight into the lives of older people. Armed with the suggestions and wishes of the nursing home management staff, we began work and completed three sketches, one of which was then selected.” Using the structural steel design they themselves had planned, the group began production of the structure.
Opening Ceremony
Everything was ready at the end of August – the pergola was formally dedicated at an opening ceremony and can now be used by residents of the nursing home.
