New: LIGNO Filter Model Range With ηmax Unit

At LIGNA 2009, Scheuch presented for the first time a new design variant of the LIGNO filter model range that has been specially developed for the furniture industry. Designed for under-pressure operation, the fan units are integrated into the filter head — the so-called ηmax unit. This results in a space-saving footprint and also a clear reduction in noise emissions. Thanks to the use of appropriate acoustical insulation in this ηmax unit, the peak noise levels of the cleaning impulses are no longer perceptible. Using flow simulations made with CFD calculations, it was possible to optimize the incoming and outgoing airflow and the injector geometry and reduce system resistance.

This lateral location inside the filter head is especially advantageous because it ensures best possible access to the fans as well as the filter bags and their cleaning mechanism.

The material discharge system for the new LIGNO filter variant was also re-engineered and improved under the aspect of increased efficiency. For performance ranges up to 120,000 m3/h, the lower portion of the filter can now be optionally implemented as a bin design. As a result, the transfer of material to the silo is required only periodically over long time intervals. In addition to the resulting reduction in energy expenditures and noise emissions, this discontinuous discharge method offers the possibility to define the danger level in the silo as Ex-Zone 21.

These latest ηmax engineering and control measures offer maximum efficiency while again lowering operating and capital investment costs:

  • 10% Reduction in fan energy costs through the new ηmax unit
    with a higher overall efficiency level for the plant.

    Savings: € 944.00 * / € 2,688.00 **

  • 90% Reduction in energy costs through the IMPULS cleaning system
    with the same noise levels when compared to air purged filters.

    Savings: € 322.00 * / € 628.00 **
  • 88% Reduction in energy costs for transporting materials
    from the filter bunker to the silo as a result of discontinuous operation in comparison to continuous operation.

    Savings: € 2,000.00 * / € 1,580.00 **

Savings per year:
* Extraction plant dimensioned for 35,000 m3/h
** Extraction plant dimensioned for 100,000 m3/h
