The tasks performed by a sheet metal engineering specialist include:

• Read and apply technical documents (plans, etc.)
• Planning, specification and implementation of workflows and projects
• Production of workpieces according to specifications
• Selection and processing of materials
• Processing of materials such as steel, aluminium, both by hand and using machinery
• Assembly and installation of components
• Fault detection and implementation of repairs
• Treatment and protection of material surfaces
• Collection and verification of technical data

Period of apprenticeship: 3½ years
