Noise reduction

SCHEUCH uses the following measures to reduce noise levels:

Sound-insulating measures

Sound-insulating measures reduce the penetration of sound on sound emitting components such as fans, filters, pipes, drive units, etc. Insulation is achieved through encapsulation in the widest sense of the word, e.g., through insulating cabins, housings, insulating shells, or the insulation of pipelines and the filter housing.

Sound-absorbing measures

These measures are used when openings to noise-producing components cannot be avoided. This is the case, for example, in the gas stream of pipelines. Pipe sound absorbers and so-called rectangular attenuators are used. Their design is usually based on a housing into which absorber material has been introduced. The porous structure of the material extracts energy from the sound as it penetrates the material. A special form of sound absorber is the so-called resonator, which is preferred when dealing with low-frequency noises.

Measures for decoupling structurally-borne noise

These measures include vibration dampers, pipe compensators and plate-type resonators in fan units.
