Flue gas dedusting system for CHP
The city of Zurich/Switzerland has erected a new biomass-fired combined heating and power plant (CHP) with a rated performance of 41.5 MW. The city commissioned Scheuch with the execution of the flue gas dedusting system. The system uses a fabric-type IMPULS chambered filter equipped with thermal insulation and a trace heating system to achieve clean gas dust levels during continuous operation of 5.0 mg/Nm3 with an oxygen content of 11%. In addition to the induced draft fan, the scope of delivery included engineering, project management, assembly, commissioning and monitoring.
The new biomass-fired CHP in Grindelwald/Switzerland has a rated performance of 4.1 MW. Scheuch installed an electrostatic precipitator to handle dedusting and an ERCS unit for heat recovery. The heat yield, which amounts to about 28% of the boiler thermal output, is used to preheat combustion air and for plume removal.
