SCRUBBERS
Scrubbers are used in flue gas cleaning systems primarily as pre-separators that are used in combination with more advanced processes for cleaning flue gases. With appropriate water conditioning, the ability of scrubber systems to adapt to changing operating conditions (variations in temperature and undershooting of the dew point) is good.Separation takes place when particles are brought into contact with a washing liquid that binds the particles, which are then removed along with the liquid from the gas stream. Soluble gaseous components can also be removed at the same time.
By injecting process water (condensate), the flue gas is cooled to its dew point and saturated with recirculating water, which already results in an initial separation of dust particles from the flue gas.
