PRIMARY DEDUSTING

Broadly speaking, the cement manufacturing process can be broken down into four main areas:
  • Preparation of the raw mixture
  • Clinker production
  • Cement grinding
  • Packaging and transport
With respect to dust emissions, there are essentially three main sources of dust in these areas: the raw mixture mill/kiln system, the clinker cooler and the cement mill. Fabric filters are used almost exclusively for dedusting these so-called primary dedusting points (volume flows up to 2,000,000 Nm³) because of increased environmental demands. In contrast to secondary dedusting points, the design of these primary dedusting points requires the control and consideration of a series of additional process parameters.
